Head and hands found near police station in Penang

BUKIT MERTAJAM, Dec 2 — Police recovered a highly decomposed, decapitated head and hands of a human some 50m from the Machang Bubuk police station near here yesterday.

The head was found in bushes and the hands 5m away on the road leading to a Chinese cemetrey at the new village.

State deputy CID chief R.S. Gunarajan said he believed the head and hands belonged to the same victim whose legs were found in Sungai Bakap on Saturday.

“The head was inside a tied plastic bag. We believe the assailant or assailants aimed to gain the attention of the public, and there was no other reason behind it,” he said at the scene.

Gunarajan denied speculation the gruesome act was a signal that the killers intended to challenge the police.

He said the decapitated head and the limbs were believed to be that of a foreigner.

“We view the string of recent gory killings seriously and we are working tirelessly towards solving the cases. However we cannot reveal the details of the investigations,” he said.

The limbs were found about 6km from where a decapitated head was discovered in Taman Impian Ria in Alma on Nov 24, and about 20km from Sungai Bakap where a headless body was found on Thursday.

On Thursday, police also fished out two bodies — one of a naked man in his 40s and another bundled in a blanket — from Sungai Ara Kuda, near Kampung Tun Sardon here.

ENAM PENGUNJUNG KONSERT FMFA MAUT 10 MINIT SELEPAS AMBIL DADAH

Kuala Lumpur, 17 Mac - Siasatan awal polis mendapati enam pengunjung konsert mati dalam tempoh 10 minit selepas mengambil dadah ecstacy jenis baharu.

Pengarah Jabatan Siasatan Jenayah Narkotik (JSJN) Bukit Aman Datuk Noor Rashid Ibrahim berkata dadah jenis baharu itu didapati baru berada dalam pasaran negara ini dan kemungkinan sedang diuji sindiket dadah.

Katanya siasatan polis juga mendapati mereka berkongsi dadah itu yang dijual kepada pengunjung konsert Festival Future Music Asia 2014 (FMFA) di Stadium Nasional Bukit Jalil di sini dengan harga tertentu.

"Hasil siasatan dan saringan awal daripada ujian hospital, kesemua mereka positif dadah jenis methampetamine dan ampetamine,” katanya kepada pemberita di sini, hari ini.

Awal pagi Sabtu lepas, enam orang termasuk tiga wanita, meninggal dunia akibat pengambilan dadah selepas mengalami sesak nafas ketika menonton konsert berkenaan manakala 15 individu lagi dirawat di hospital. Ekoran insiden itu, konsert itu yang sepatutnya berlangsung tiga hari dibatalkan pada hari terakhir semalam.

Mereka dirawat di Hospital Kuala Lumpur, Pusat Perubatan Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia dan Pusat Perubatan Universiti Malaya (PPUM) manakala seorang dibenarkan keluar dari PPUM semalam.

Noor Rashid berkata sebelum insiden itu, polis telah menahan 40 orang iaitu sembilan orang, masing-masing memiliki ecstacy dan ganja manakala 22 orang disyaki mengambil dadah yang jenisnya belum dikenal pasti.

"Mereka yang ditahan kerana memiliki ecstacy iaitu empat warga asing dan lima warga tempatan, memiliki ganja dua warga asing dan tujuh warga tempatan manakala 22 orang lagi iaitu enam warga tempatan dan 16 warga asing antaranya dari Zimbabwe, Australia, Indonesia dan India," katanya.

Beliau berkata berdasarkan kajian oleh Pejabat Pertubuhan Bangsa Bersatu (PBB) mengenai Dadah dan Jenayah (UNODC) mendapati dadah baharu terhasil setiap dua minggu. - BERNAMA

Bukit Mertajam: Polis rampas bom, tahan enam suspek

Enam orang termasuk dua wanita ditahan dan polis merampas sebutir bom, sejumlah peluru dan sebilah pedang samurai selepas menyerbu sebuah rumah flat di Machang Bubuk di sini awal pagi ini.

Ketua Jabatan Siasatan Jenayah Pulau Pinang SAC Mazlan Kesah berkata kesemua mereka berusia 21 hingga 48 tahun itu ditahan dalam Ops Cantas Khas pada pukul 1.30 pagi ini.

"Berdasarkan maklumat dan intipan yang diperoleh, sepasukan pegawai dan anggota polis Daerah Seberang Perai Tengah (SPT) menyerbu rumah berkenaan.

Terdapat empat lelaki dan dua wanita dalam rumah itu," katanya katanya ketika dihubungi di Bukit Mertajam hari ini.

Beliau berkata hasil pemeriksaan dalam rumah itu, polis menemui sebutir bom, masing-masing 10 butir peluru berwarna perak bertulis NCCR .38 SPL dan berwarna kuning bertulis THAI ARMS .38 SPL serta sebilah parang samurai dengan ukiran naga.

"Dua lelaki yang ditahan dalam operasi itu memang dikehendaki polis manakala yang lain mempunyai beberapa rekod jenayah lampau," katanya sambil memberitahu polis akan menyiasat sama ada mereka adalah anggota kumpulan kongsi gelap.

Bernama difahamkan mereka yang ditahan itu merupakan anggota sindiket pengedaran dadah dan menjadikan rumah berkenaan sebagai tempat berkumpul serta menjalankan aktiviti haram kumpulan itu.

Sementara itu, polis akan mengambil keterangan enam lelaki yang cedera selepas terkena tembakan dan serpihan peluru ketika sedang minum di sebuah gerai di Taman Kasawari, Simpang Ampat, di sini Sabtu malam.

Mazlan berkata polis juga akan mengambil keterangan pemilik kedai tempat kejadian itu.

Tiga daripada enam yang cedera itu telah dibenarkan keluar daripada Hospital Sungai Bakap, katanya.

Mazlan berkata siasatan lanjut masih dijalankan untuk mengenal pasti motif kejadian dan polis tidak menolak kemungkinan ia mempunyai kaitan dengan perniagaan.

Dalam kejadian pada pukul 10.45 malam itu, enam lelaki yang sedang minum di sebuah kedai cedera selepas terkena tembakan dan serpihan peluru yang dilepaskan dua lelaki yang menaiki sebuah motosikal.
